Experience

Since 2011, I have tutored more than 500 students and delivered over 15,000 hours of Mathematics instruction. I have taught Mathematics from middle school through high school, including IB SL and HL, as well as university-level students. I also prepare students for SAT, AP, GED, GRE, and GMAT examinations.

I've been an online Mathematics tutor since 2014. I have teaching experience with Math Make Smart (MMS), LACAS Tutor, and STEM Online Tutor. I specialize in O-Level, A-Level, GCSE, and IGCSE Mathematics, teaching students in the USA, UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Pakistan. Holding an M.Phil in Mathematics, I've helped students achieve A*/A grades.

I'm Maryam, a Mathematics tutor with an MPhil in Mathematics, and I have been teaching mathematics since 2015. I have taught primary, high school, college, university, and adult learners across IB, IGCSE, GCSE, American, British, and New Zealand curricula. I also specialize in SAT, TMUA, AIME, and Gauss examination preparation.

Experience

I hold a B.Ed. and a BS in Mathematics. Since 2019, I have taught Mathematics in classrooms and online, including five years under Pakistan’s Federal Board curriculum and over three years tutoring students through Zoom and Google Meet. At my previous school, I increased my class’s Mathematics pass rate from 70% to 98% in a single quarter by identifying the specific concepts each student struggled with. This experience shaped my approach to teaching: understanding where a student gets stuck is just as important as explaining the concept. I bring this student-focused approach to every tutoring session, adapting my teaching to each learner’s needs.

Since 2024, I have been tutoring Australian students, tailoring my teaching approach to each student’s learning needs. During the trial session, I assess the student’s understanding, identify areas of difficulty, and develop a lesson plan that addresses their specific learning goals. I assign homework after every class to reinforce key concepts and conduct monthly assessments to track progress across the topics covered. I also share feedback reports with parents to keep them informed about their child’s development. In every session, I explain Mathematics concepts in simple, clear language, helping students understand challenging topics and build confidence in their abilities.

Provide private and online tutoring services to O/A Level students and others. I am an expert in discovering students’ learning styles and developing academic strategies and courses to meet students' needs and help them achieve goals.

Tutoring Approach

My goal in tutoring is to improve the self-confidence of students and turn them into intelligent beings. I believe teachers made the leaders. My tutoring approach is based on giving my best and encouraging my students to do better and think of themselves. I keep the last few minutes for question answers and a summary of the whole class. I usually take quizzes in exam style and keep a record of students’ progress. Parents and students can always give me feedback, and I’d love to know them.
